Classic Aesthetics

The Morris Liberty 44 Express Cruiser, like her smaller sister the Liberty 36, combines classic New England aesthetics with yacht finish construction and detailing to produce the finest running and best built cruiser in her class. Her hull shape incorporates a narrow deeply V’d entry, moderate beam, displacement, and deadrise angle to make what Tom Morris has described as “the sweetest riding powerboat hull I’ve ever driven”. Down below, the Liberty 44 offers the kind of accommodations sailors appreciate – a real sea-going galley, secure hand holds, and berths comfortable both underway and in port.

Liberty 44 Overview

Her hull has a sharp deeply V shaped entry which turns aft into moderate deadrise. A perfectly positioned spray rail does a beautiful job of knocking down spray and keeping her crew dry. Moderate displacement and beam enable this hull to slice through waves and chop with an absolute minimum of fuss and a flat wake – the telltale signs of a properly designed planing hull. The propeller and rudder are protected by a skeg, which also provides the Liberty 36 with terrific tracking and directional stability. The Liberty 36’s Morris Yachts quality construction and finish, together with her Chuck Paine design pedigree will guarantee lasting service and value.

The interior is finished in Morris Yachts classic Herreshoff style, with white bulkheads and solid cherry joiner work with satin varnish finish. The cabin sole is teak with contrasting maple stripes and a satin urethane finish for durability. The galley is complete with a propane countertop stove, DC refrigerator/freezer, Corian countertop, with undermounted polished SS sink and hot and cold pressure water. The enclosed head includes a Vacuflush toilet, Corian countertop with an oval SS sink, hot and cold pressurized water, wall mount thermostatically controlled shower and overhead hatch for ventilation. In the salon, the port settee is designed for comfortable lounging or sleeping. The cherry drop-leaf table provides an area for comfortable indoor dining. Forward of the salon, bi-fold louvered doors lead to a comfortable v-berth for overnighting.
