We here at Morris Yachts are proud of the reputation for being one of America’s premier builders of semi-custom sailing yachts. And while the full range of our M-Series line continues to turn heads from Saint Petersburg, Florida to Saint Tropez on the French Riviera, our Ocean Series yachts continue to literally sail (and turn heads) all around the world.
And a prime example of the quality, performance, and bluewater capability that is built into every Morris yachts is our Ocean Series 48 GT model. “This was been a really fun boat to build,” says Morris ambassador Cuyler Morris.
“Thanks to a fantastic collaboration with the owner, we’ve been able to create a true offshore boat that will both take care of a cruising family, and perform beautifully in light air too.” This is because great care has been taken to insure that the fully infused hull and carbon fiber rig are as light and stiff as possible. Even technologically advanced lithium house batteries are used to keep speed-stealing weight to a minimum.
We’re also pretty proud of the fact that Morris Yachts is one of the few American sailboat builders that assigns an interior designer to work with each individual owner. So in addition to the clean lines and panoramic views of the distinctive raised saloon, 48 GT owners also get the legendary craftsmanship that Morris Yachts are known for, an interior that’s decorated to their exact specifications, and a large en-suite owners cabin with a super-yacht inspired circular shower stall as well.
Meanwhile, our in-house design team has given the 48 GT a larger rig for greater sailing performance and a self-tacking jib and leisure-furl mainsail for easier sail handling.
The spacious, full-service galley has been enhanced by a unique crossbeam utility station.
And the boat’s brand-new, built-in swim platform and easy access transom door accomplish the difficult task of retaining the good looks of a classic transom with the ease of use of a more modern design.
