BASS HARBOR, MAINE (December 17th, 2012) – Morris Yachts welcomes James Fitzgerald as the company’s new Paint Supervisor, leading Morris’ Awlgrip Paint Department in Bass Harbor, Maine. Fitzgerald brings almost two decades of paint experience with him to Morris and is looking forward to continuing the high standards of craftsmanship for which Morris is known. “It doesn’t get better than this,” says Fitzgerald. “It’s a privilege to work for a company where expectations for quality are so high, and where your work is truly appreciated.”
Fitzgerald joins Morris Yachts from a strong marine background in painting and Awlgrip applications; previous employers include Atlantic Boat and The Hinckley Company. Fitzgerald has also owned a painting business for many years where he served boating clients up and down the New England coast and beyond. “I learned through having my own business that relationships and trust are very important,” says Fitzgerald. “It is already clear to me that the crew at Morris is both committed to their customers and to each other as a group. I think I’m going to fit in very well here.”
Fitzgerald will run the company’s purpose-built paint facilities in Bass Harbor, Maine, and is responsible for both company-wide new boat construction and service yard paint projects. “James brings with him the gold standard in paint application and knowledge,” says Cuyler Morris, President of Morris Yachts. “Christmas came early this year for us at Morris!”
