For us here are Morris Yachts, building, selling, and servicing quintessentially American sailing yachts is way more than just a job. We take great pride in the fact that each Morris Yacht is handcrafted by our team of skilled craftsmen on the coast of Maine. And we’re all extremely grateful for the fact that our “jobs” allow us to be connected to the ocean in very real and rewarding ways.
But, the truth is, we’re all pretty jealous of our highly knowledgeable sales team that have thousands of sailing miles of experience and get sail our boats on a regular basis. And once you get to know them, you’ll see what we already know. The members of our tight-knit sales “dream team” live, breathe, and sleep fine sailing yachts. And they’re uniquely qualified to help you build the yacht of your dreams.
Cuyler Morris Brand Ambassador
Cuyler was born and raised around Morris Yachts (founded by his parents in Southwest Harbor, Maine, in 1972). “Sailing is what I do, whether it’s participating in the America’s Cup, Olympic Star Sailing, Offshore and Inshore One Design Championships, or cruising the Caribbean with my family on a Morris. Today I spend my time cruising and racing with our customers and working on future designs and the overall strategy for the success of Morris Yachts in the 21st century.” Cuyler and his wife Cindy have four children; Sam, Sophia, Thomas, and Charlie.
Eric Roos Sales Director
A native of Maine, Eric spend his childhood years working for local boatyards before attending College of the Atlantic and receiving a BA in Human Ecology. After graduating he spent 7 years in Marina Management followed by another 7 years in the Yachting industry as a private Captain, holding a 100 ton USCG License. In 2000, Eric came ashore and joined the Hinckley Company’s sales team, serving as Sales Director for the Great Lakes territory. In 2004, he returned to the salty waters of Maine once again, this time, joining Morris Yachts Sales team and promoting the successful new line of M-series daysailers. With the exciting recent merging of Hinckley & Morris Yachts, Eric now splits his time between the two boat building yards concentrating on sailboat sales between 29’-70’. Eric lives in Bar Harbor with his two young boys who also enjoy spending time on the water.
Chad Thieken Sales Director
Chad has been at the helm of some of the world’s finest sailing superyachts for over 15 years. As a Class IV/3000GT Captain with a degree in Maritime Business pursuing his naval architecture studies, he brings his hands-on knowledge and experience working with owners, designers, and shipyards globally here to Maine. He can think of no better place to come ashore than Mount Desert Island and enjoys paddle boarding, kayaking, hiking and cycling Acadia with his wife and daughter.
Wythe Ingebritson Brokerage Director
Besides a love for all things on and around the water, Wythe brings a depth of experience to his role managing the pre-owned sales department at Morris Yachts. After a career on the water that included running ferries in Boston Harbor to schooners off the coast of Maine to yachts in the Caribbean with his wife, he came ashore in 2000 to Bar Harbor to start a family. Since then, he has spent time working at Hinckley, starting in service in the rigging department, he moved to a position training new Hinckley owners in all aspects of using and maintaining their boats. He later moved to the boat building side of the business, eventually running both the project management and the quality departments. An opportunity to join Morris Yachts in 2006 led to a position in sales representing both new and pre-owned yachts and involvement in both the builds and management of the new boats and the service and maintenance of the brokerage boats. An opportunity to run project management at Hinckley in 2011 led to a position in the brokerage department and the recent merging of Hinckley and Morris has allowed Wythe to spend his time at both companies. When Wythe is not helping someone find their next boat (or the next owner of their boat), he enjoys photography, being outside and most of all spending time with his wife and two boys – ideally on the water in one form or another.
